Managed Services is defined as services externally provided by IT companies that cover operations and management capabilities delivered over a networked infrastructure, using a monthly subscription model or recurring charge. Managed services can be provided for networks, security, databases, servers, storage and applications.
In 2007, Masser Technologies started the process to become a Managed Services Provider or MSP. Under the previously used “Time and Materials”, Masser Technologies was unable to provide customer with proactive support, and instead was only responding to customers emergencies. When the need to do preventive maintenance on our customers’ networks, we were always asked “How long would it take” because that directly would be translated into another IT expense.
Masser Technologies recognized that becoming MSP was going to be a winning solution for everybody. By charging customers a flat fee per device per month regardless of the amount of support required, Masser Technologies was not only going to be able to do proactive maintenance and 24×7 monitoring, but would also be able to “control” all systems to increase reliability and respond proactively before issues arose.
