MSSP

Comprehensive MSSP Overview

With the new year ringing in, here at Masser Technologies we wanted to familiarize those who may not know about our business model evolution or reiterate it to those who have been our loyal partners for years. We currently operate as a Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP), a model that has increased our capacity to meet the needs of our customers, but it hasn’t always been that way.

Masser Technologies originally operated under the traditional “Break-Fix” or “Time and Materials” service model, customers are billed for every minute technicians troubleshoot issues, emphasizing reactionary problem fixing versus proactive maintenance. This maintenance arrangement typically incurs more service costs and strains IT budgets. The solution that we found was the MSSP model. We use a monthly flat fee based on the number of devices on the network and not the hours of assistance required. Whether we spend one or one hundred hours supporting customer operations each month, the fee does not change. As a managed security services, we outsource your company’s security infrastructure and help to identify and mitigate security threats. This includes a deeper understanding of cybersecurity services such as threat monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and incident response.

Our managed security services can offer several advantages to your business. Firstly, we can enhance your threat detection and response times through continuous monitoring and proactive threat hunting. This can help prevent data breaches and other security incidents. Secondly, outsourcing your cybersecurity needs can help reduce IT costs by eliminating the need for in-house security staff, their salaries, and training. MSSPs also provide access to expert cybersecurity knowledge and resources that may not be available in-house, which can further improve your business’s security posture. Some other key features include real time malware threats alerts with our EDR software, cloud security that encrypts and protects data in transit and at rest, and finally AI algorithms built into our solutions to identify patterns and anomalies that may indicate a threat.

Securing your business has never been more important. The impact of cybercrime on the global economy is significant. According to a report by Cybersecurity Ventures, cybercrime is expected to cost the world $10.5 trillion annually by 2025. This includes the costs associated with data breaches, theft of intellectual property, and loss of productivity due to system downtime. In addition to the financial costs, cyber-attacks can also damage a company’s reputation, erode customer trust, and result in legal and regulatory penalties.
